NAPTIP declares woman who uses videos to force girls into prostitution, wanted

NAPTIP BOSS, JULIE
Miss Perebi Nicole Otubo has been declared wanted by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for allegedly trafficking girls from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) for prostitution.
According to Deputy Director and Head, Press and Public Relation, NAPTIP, Mr Josiah Emerole, Otubo has been linked to an International Human Trafficking ring that specialized in trafficking young girls from Nigeria to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) for sexual exploitation.
Sometimes in 2015, two video recordings were uploaded on the internet. The videos had two Nigerian girls, naked and taking oath somewhere in Dubai. The oath was administered by her madam, later discovered to be Otubo.
Otubo used the videos as tools to force her girls to submit to prostitution.
The girls were tricked and trafficked to Dubai to meet Otubo, who sponsored their trips. It was when they got to Dubai they realized that had unwittingly entered into sex slavery. They were expected to have sex with several men in Dubai and raise 30,000 US dollars to pay Otubo. The money was to cover for transportation to Dubai, accommodation and feeding paid by Otubo.
While administering the oath, Otubo told one of the girls: “Nobody cheats me Chisom. If you fail to pay me, I shall post this video on Facebook and other social media for people to see. But if you finish paying me, I’ll call you and I’ll delete it. Nobody will see the video except me. Nobody can hide my money. Don’t lie to me. Go and ask others about me. Don’t do anything that will make me touch you. My hands are too ‘strong.’ Make sure you fight and struggle with any guy to collect your money! It’s your money! Whatever I tell you to collect, is what you should collect. Don’t let the man go, except I tell you to let him go!”
Two among the girls escaped after they realised it would take years for them to raise 30,000 dollars via sex. They worked for between three to four months before they dared they fled. They were each, already being forced to sleep with over 20 Arab men daily, but whatever they were paid, seemed like a drop in the ocean.
They were assisted back to Nigeria through the help of a Good Samaritan in Dubai. Before they got to Nigeria, the videos had been uploaded and gone viral. Incidentally, it was also those videos that made NAPTIP to start hunting for Otubo.
Emerole said: “Otubo, whose date of birth is December 9, 1984 hails from Bomadi Town in Delta State. She is 1.65 meters tall and slightly fair in complexion.  She was recently jailed in Dubai, UAE, for Human Trafficking. She was released in July 2017 and is currently at large, hiding somewhere in Nigeria. Her accomplices and recruiters in Nigeria have been arrested by NAPTIP and are currently facing prosecution in court. Anyone with useful information that could lead to her arrest should please contact NAPTIP on the following platforms: 08002255627847 or 07030000203 (toll free lines) or email: info@naptip.gov.ng.”
