Bad road kills Mother, two kids, others as bus plunges into river

A mother and her two female kids were among 11 people who died after their bus skidded off the road and plunged into a river, at Akwa Ibom State.

Their bus was heading to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State from Port Harcourt, when the tragedy occurred.
Federal Road Safety Corps, Sector Commander, Akwa Ibom  State, Mr. Ramalan Yerima, said that the accident happened on Friday, at 9pm, on Ibagwa bridge near Wellington Bassey Barracks, Abak  Local Government area of Akwa Ibom.
According to him, their victims were in a 18-seater bus carrying 13 passengers. He said two men survived.
The driver was said to have been trying to dodge a pothole at the edge  of the bridge when a car, coming from behind hit the bus and it skidded into  the river.
