Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye
The anti-robbery team of the Ogun State Police Command attached to the Ifo division has arrested two fake soldiers for allegedly extorting and robbing the people of the Ifo Local Government Area.
The state police spokesman, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, said the fake soldiers were always dressed in army camouflage, which they used to harass and robbed the residents at gunpoint.
He said policemen were tipped-off concerning their activities and they were put under surveillance, until their eventual arrest.
He said, “The police raided the hideout of the suspects where one Ojelabi Asewale and Ogunbiyi Michael were arrested with more than six sets of military uniforms, military belts, camouflage caps, masks, a jack knife, a bagful of documents, military shoes, international passports, and charms.”
Adejobi added that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikemefuna Okoye, said the residents of the state should always supply security agents with information on suspicious persons and movements in their communities.
He said, “The CP commended the people of the community for giving the police prompt information on the fake soldiers who had been terrorising them. We need more of such cooperation with the police.”http://www.punchng.com/metro-plus/police-arrest-fake-soldiers-for-robbery/
