An angry policewoman, on Thursday, gave a blinding slap to a man during an
altercation. The man promptly retaliated and was arrested.
It happened at the Ebute-Metta area of Lagos and the matter is presently
at Dento Police Station.
In Nigeria, a civilian is not supposed to slap a cop in uniform. Its a
grievious offence. It’s assault.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, was asked to look
into the case and see how to settle it amicably.
He said if he allows the guy
to go Scot free, the commissioner of police will be pissed with him.
If it's wrong for a civilian to slap or assault an officer in uniform, is
it then right for a policewoman in uniform to slap or assault a man? Don’t
forget this is Africa!
