Female kidnapper, others held in Nasarawa
The police in Nasarawa State yesterday paraded a 36-yearold woman, Sandra Linus, for allegedly kidnapping a nine-year-old girl, Nnenna Ogbonna, at Masaka in Karu Local Government Area of the state.


The police also paraded 20 other suspects involved in the recent crisis in parts of the state.
Parading the suspects at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Lafia, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ogochukwu Theodore, said the police also arrested five armed robbery suspects in the last one month.
Theodore added that the police apprehended 11 suspects for allegedly being in possession of illegal firearms, ammunition and charms. Items recovered from the suspects included seven guns, ammunition and a car.
Theodore said that Linus was arrested about 11:15pm on October 3 after one Ogbonna Njoku of Chief’s Palace, Masaka, reported the incident at the Masaka police station.
According to him, about 9am on the same date, Linus and one Anna Ndidi conspired to kidnap the girl. He said: “The said Nnenna Ogbonna was later traced by the police to the house of one Helen Austine, a sister to Sandra Linus, where she was found but in an unconscious state because of the ‘snipper’ substance the suspect administered on her.”
Theodore explained that the victim was rushed to a clinic at Masaka for medical attention, adding that after her arrest, the prime suspect confessed to have committed the crime.
He also said the other 20 suspects, who had been setting houses, shops and other property ablaze, were arrested on November 16, 17 and 18. According to him, items recovered from are three cutlasses, three knives and assorted charms.
The PPRO commended the public for providing the police with useful information. Theodore also promised that the police would not relent in their efforts to fight crime in the state.http://newtelegraphonline.com/female-kidnapper-others-held-in-nasarawa/
