The Director, Air Force Information, Air Commodore Dele Alonge, said in an electronic mail on Monday that those promoted were 16 Air Vice Marshals, 35 Air Commodores, 33 Group Captains and 26 Wing Commanders.
Alonge said that the promotions were carried out to motivate the officers and men of the Air Force to carry out their duties and to make the necessary input into the development of the service and the society.
“The recent promotions are in line with the Transformation Agenda of Mr. President and one of the key drivers of the CAS vision which is personnel motivation.
“As an annual exercise, the purpose of promotion is to encourage officers and men to rededicate themselves to assigned duties as well as the development of the Nigerian Air Force and the nation as a whole,” he said
According to him, those promoted Air Vice Marshals are the Commander 75 Strike Group Yola, AVM Emmanuel Anebi; Commander 79 Composite Group, Maiduguri, AVM Nurudeen Balogun; Commander 201 Heavy Airlift Group Ikeja, AVM Christopher Okoye; Commander, 97 Special Operations Group, Port Harcourt, AVM Ajibola Jekennu; Commander 106 Headquarters Nigerian Air Force Camp, Abuja, AVM Abdul Bello; and the Chief of Accounts and Budget, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, AVM Jacob Adigun;
Others are the Commander, 81 Air Maritime Group, Benin, AVM Olusoji Awomodu; Commander 203 Medium Airlift Group, Ilorin, AVM Ndana Kudu; Commander 301 Flying Training School, Kaduna, AVM Dayo Adeluoye; Director of Plans at Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, AVM Samson Akpasa; College Secretary, National Defence College, Abuja, AVM Kingsley Lar; and the Director of Armament at Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, AVM John Kayode-Beckley;
