Dogs’ attack: Four-year-old boy to get overseas treatment

Dogs’ attack: Four-year-old boy to get overseas treatment
Governor Babatunde Fashola said yesterday that he had approved overseas treatment for the four-year-old boy, Abraham Omonigho, who dogs attacked in Igando area of Lagos State.
Earlier in an interview, the boy’s father, Mr Odia Omonigho, had told our correspondent that his son was not given adequate attention.
He also lashed out at the police for allegedly conducting a shoddy investigation into the attack on Abraham. Omonigho also expressed disappointment with the way armed policemen watched helplessly as his landlord’s two dogs devoured his son’s scalp.
But while presenting the 2015 budget to the state House of Assembly, Fashola said the boy’s injuries had been recommended for overseas specialist attention. He said: “The impact of this budget has reached vulnerable children like four-year-old Abraham Omonigho who was unfortunately attacked by dogs.
“After being attended and stabilised by our health workers at Igando General Hospital, where his life-threatening wounds were treated, he has been recommended for overseas specialist attention, for mesh skin graft and reconstructive surgery to repair the scars of his wounds.”
The treatment of the boy at the expense of the state government, the governor said, was possible because some residents chose to perform their civic responsibility by paying their taxes promptly.http://newtelegraphonline.com/dogs-attack-four-year-old-boy-to-get-overseas-treatment/
