The emirs, who expressed worries over the deteriorating level of
insecurity being perpetrated by Boko Haram, equally called on their
subjects to bring out natural talents and supernatural methods in
protecting themselves from the insurgents.
They berated the Nigerian Army for their inability to protect the
region from insurgency and called on hunters and other warriors to wake
up to the challenge by adopting any means of self-defence.
Speaking during an interview with the British Broadcasting
Cooperation, Hausa Service, monitored by our correspondent in Jos,
Plateau State, the Emir of Kano, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, who
expressed the position of his colleagues, said: “We cannot sit and watch
our people killed on daily basis,”
Sanusi was quoted to have made this known at the formal prayer
session organized by the emirate council in an effort to find a lasting
solution to the increasing cases of insecurity in the North
He added: “Do not sit down and think that the soldiers will come to save you.
“You do what you are supposed to do before they come.”
According to Sanusi, Islam is of the view that anyone who dies
protecting his country, property or family is not only hero but a saint.
“Those that Allah has blessed with any form of self protection means and strategy should use it for any aggression,” he said.http://theeagleonline.com.ng/emir-of-kano-mobilizes-citizens-for-war-against-boko-haram/
