There was
bloodbath in Moro Village, Shagamu Ogun State, after thugs, numbering over 50
invaded the village on Wednesday morning.
The presence of the thugs threw the community into panic. Commercial activities
came to a halt and civil servants and school pupils ran back home.
By the
time the hoodlums left the village, they left 15 people wounded. They were
rushed to nearby hospitals and are presently battling to stay alive.
Among
those that sustained injury is Dauda Asikolaye, a land owner. He said he was
conveying his workers to his new site at Egan, when unknown thugs
unleashed terror on them. He noted that 15 of his workers were severely
injured.
Asikolaye said: “l was going to my site, at Egan Village when the thugs attacked us. I was just alighting from my Toyota Jeep, when several gun shots came towards my direction. We were attacked by one Ofin and his colleagues.”
It was gathered that the thugs were not targeting Asikolaye; rather they mistook him for their opponents in an ongoing feud.
A source disclosed that the thugs had been at war over the ownership of Moro land in the past one year. When they sighted Asikolaye and his workers, they feared he was part of their opponents attempting to allegedly steal their lands and without thinking twice, they attacked.
