Why I removed my friend’s intestines-Alfa

In what he described as candid confession, an alfa has revealed how his friend died and why he and some other Islamic clergies had to removed his intestines before throwing his corpse into a river.

The suspect, Fatai Aderonmu 27, said the death of his friend, Rafiu was caused by human error, contrarily to police allegation that he cold bloodedly murdered his friend and shared his body parts among other Islamic clergies.
Aderonmu said that he actually prepared a concoction for his the deceased, which was supposed to make him, not just a better crane driver, but a successful one.
The suspect said that he didn’t know that one of the chemical he put in the concoction was too much, until Rafiu started complaining of stomachache, slept and died.
According to him, when he realized that Rafiu was dead, he panicked. He told other clergies in the area and they convinced to dump the corpse into the river to avoid police trouble.
The clergies had further assisted him in dissecting the corpse and removing the intestines. He said: “We however only removed the intestines to stop the corpse from swelling, bursting and smelling. We didn’t leave that place with the intestines. We left it there.”
He said he regretted the action he and other clergies took, adding that if he had known the situation would turn out the way it did, he would have alerted the police.
He explained that he met the late Rafiu at Morogbo, Okomaiko, Lagos State, garage and the man later paid his bus fare for him after they boarded the same vehicle.

Aderonmu said: “I introduced myself to him as an alfa and also a traditional medicine man. He told me that he would like me to be assisting him to make concoction which would help him succeed in his work as a crane driver. On February 10, Rafiu called and paid me N2000 in advance. He said I should help him make some charms, which I did.
“But didn't know a certain chemical was much in the mixture. On February 13, which was a Friday, Rafiu came for the mixture. He said he was very hungry. I gave him food. I actually bought the food for him. After he finished eating, he drank the mixture. He went to sleep. He started feeling sickly and decided to spend the night in my house. But a few minutes later, I noticed he was no longer breathing.”
Aderonmu said that not knowing what next to do and being scared, he called the attention of other Islamic clergies in the area.
“Four of the clergies followed me. They advised that the body should be thrown into the river to save my head. I cooperated with them. We carried him to the nearby forest, removed all his intestines and dumped his body inside the river which was covered with bushes.”
He said that two days later, Rafiu wife called him; asking if had seen her husband. Aderonmu denied sighting eyes on the deceased for some days.
Aderonmu recounted: “The wife further went to ask another clergy close to my house. It was that clergy who told her that he saw me and Rafiu some days ago. The next thing I know, she and his family went to the police. I was arrested.  I never intended to kill Rafiu. If I had known it would end this way, I would have reported the case to the police myself instead of to my colleagues.”
