Suspected cult members yesterday murdered a retired Assistant
Superintendent of Police (ASP), Daniel Akogwu, and his son, Oche, in
Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
The victims, it was learnt, were
killed by a cult group which one of his sons allegedly belonged to. The
said son is reportedly at large at the moment.
The suspected cultists invaded Akogwu’s residence located off David
Mark bypass, behind Police Headquarters, at 4a.m. in desperate search
for the fleeing son.
A neighbour, who simply identified himself as Mr. Adah, told
journalists that the cult members laid an ambush for who would first
come out of the house to open the entrance door to Akogwu’s apartment.
He said: “It was when the mother of the boy, a food seller who usually
comes out early to prepare for her business, opened the door that she
stumbled on to them and started shouting.”https://newtelegraphonline.com/cultists-kill-retired-asp-son-benue/
