Police in Bauchi State yesterday said they had arrested suspected
kidnappers, rustlers, car snatchers, armed robbers and recovered arms
and ammunition.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP
Mahmood Mohammed, said in order to stem the tide of kidnapping, robbery
and rustling in the state, the police carryout a series of operations
which led to several arrests and recoveries. Mohammed said in a
statement that members of the syndicate behind a series of car-snatching
and house-breaking cases in Bauchi metropolis had been arrested.
He said: “So far, three suspects have been arrested and they are
assisting the police to arrest other fleeing accomplices. Exhibits
recovered include one Barreta pistol, one Macrov pistol, one dark blue
Toyota Highlander ‘Jeep,’ one Toyota Corolla car with registration
number YGJ 133 AA, one fabricated master key, six rounds of 0.6mm live
