Obasse, who is a management staff of
Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State, was abducted at about
9am on his way to the church.
Our correspondent learnt on Tuesday that the abductors got in touch with members of his family on Monday to make the demand.
It was not clear as at the time of
filing this report if the demand would be met, but the state Chairman of
Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Mr. Lawrence Ekwok, lamented the
increasing kidnap cases in Calabar.
Recently, a Senior Resident Pastor of
Living Faith Church in Calabar, Mr. Seyi Adekunle, was kidnapped by
gunmen inside the church auditorium, while another member of PFN, Dr.
Walter Ibe, was also abducted in Obudu.
Ekwok said the PFN would seek God’s
intervention on the release of Obasse, adding that a few clerics had
been rescued from in the last few weeks.
He said in a text message, “I can now
confirm that a member of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Patrick
Obasse, of Foursquare Gospel Church was kidnapped on Sunday morning on
his way to the church.http://punchng.com/kidnappers-four-square-member-demand-n20m/
