Save us from rapists, robbers, community cries out

Residents of Ibeshe town in Ikorodu area of Lagos State yesterday took to the streets to protest incessant robbery attacks and raping of women in the area.

The protesters also called on government and security agencies to save them.
They said their lives were constantly being threatened by cult members and militants, even as they said some people had fled their houses. The protesters said that the community had not known peace in the last two years.
Speaking during the protest to the state House of Assembly, the Chairman, Ibesheland Joint Community Development Association, Pastor Fred Olanipekun, said their community had been under the siege of cultists for a long time.
Olanipekun, who led the protest, called on the Lagos State government to come to their aid and restore peace in the community, He said a cult group leader known as ‘Badoo’ had wreaked havoc on the community.
Badoo, according to him, goes on raping spree, kidnaps and maims people in the community. He said: “For the past two years, we have been experiencing incessant rape of widows, single mothers, young and old women and ladies.”https://newtelegraphonline.com/save-us-rapists-robbers-community-cries/
