At least, three students of the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia have been reportedly shot dead by anti-riot policemen.
The incident occurred on Tuesday while the students of the
polytechnic were protesting the death of their colleague knocked down by
a fast moving car.
But the three students were reportedly shot by anti-ratio policemen
drafted to disperse the protesters. Meanwhile, authorities of the
Nasarawa State Polytechnic have shut down the institution on the orders
of the government.
The closure, the Registrar of the polytechnic, Mr. Labani Joseph, was
to check further violent protest and to prevent further loss of lives
and property.
Addressing journalists on the campus of the institution, Joseph
explained that when the authorities got the news of the death of the
student who was killed by a car, they immediately conveyed a meeting to
