THERE was palpable tension around Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos State, following the reported killing of a man identified as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The deceased, identified as Sikiru Ogboye, was said to be monitoring the distribution of the permanent voter cards in Ibeju when the incident occurred.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the state police command had made some arrests in connection with the incident.
It was gathered that timely intervention of policemen from Ajiwe police station prevented clash between supporters of various parties at the scene of the incident.
Members of the PDP had accused a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of inviting the thugs, who reportedly shot the deceased.
Lamenting the killing, a PDP chieftain, Chief Bode Oyedele, described it as wicked and needless, adding that it was a bad omen for 2015 election in the state.
When contacted , the image maker in charge of the state police command, Kenneth Nwosu, claimed not to be aware of the incident, but promised to find out and get back to the Nigerian Tribune.
He, however, could not do so as of the time of filling in this report.http://www.tribune.com.ng/news/news-headlines/item/21103-pdp-member-shot-dead-in-lagos
