BOKO HARAM: IGP VISITS FAMILIES OF DECEASED/MISSING POLICE OFFICERS, GIVES N500,000

In line with the resolve by the Nigeria Police Force to see to the welfare of all its personnel, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba on December, 30, 2014 visited the families of deceased/missing police officers in the line of duty. He also presented each N500,000.

The meeting was held in the premises of No. 38 Police Mobile Force (38 PMF) Squadron, Akwanga, Nasarawa State where the families assembled.

While speaking, he said the Nigeria Police Force is concerned about the welfare of all its personnel as has been demonstrated in many ways since his assumption of duty.

 He further stated that he regrets the loss of any officer in line of duty, which the Force does everything humanly possible to prevent, adding that he is greatly disturbed about the fate of the missing officers and feels the hurt of the families.

As part of efforts to cushion the pain in each family, the Force has presented the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (500,000.00) to them. The breakdown of which is as follows; N200,000 from the Police Reward Fund, N200,000 from the Nigeria Police Welfare Insurance and N100,000 being donation from the office of the IGP.

Meanwhile, the IGP has assured the families of the missing police officers that efforts are being made to trace and rescue these dear colleagues.
