Ese: Dahiru leaves prison, returns to Kano

Yunusa Dahiru aka Yellow, who is standing trial on a five-count charge of criminal abduction, illicit sex, sexual exploitation and unlawful carnal knowledge of a minor, Miss Ese Oruru, has been released from the Okaka prison in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
His freedom came four months after he was arraigned and remanded for the alleged abduction of Oruru.
The defendant, it was learnt, was immediately taken to Kano, his home state, in company with his defence lawyers who usually fly into Bayelsa during court sittings. His lead counsel, Mr. Kayode Olaosebekan, confirmed Dahiru’s release. He said: “His people have taken him away.” It was learnt that Dahiru’s surety was an indigene of Bayelsa State.
This was contrary to insinuations that no indigene of Bayelsa State would be willing to stand surety for the accused because of the ethnic and religious sentiments the case had elicited.https://newtelegraphonline.com/ese-dahiru-leaves-prison-returns-kano/
