Businessman kills truck pusher over N5,000 disagreement
A man, who killed a truck pusher over N5,000 disagreement and tried to conceal the body, was shocked after his relation discovered it and reported to the police.
The suspect, 26-yearold Lawrence Ikonne, said he killed Isa Yaya, 22, for getting him worked up. Ikonne said that he had wanted to sell his condemned air conditioner and had gone to Alaba International Market to look for a buyer.
It was there he met the deceased. Yaya used to buy condemned aluminum items from people, which he puts into his truck and would later be recycled. When Ikonne told him about the condemned air conditioner, Yaya went with him home to check it out. The business, however, did not turn out as both men wanted. Yaya said the N5,000 Ikonne was asking was too much.
Ikonne said that since Yaya could not pay the amount he asked for, he should assist him to carry the air conditioner back to the store. Rather than assist, Yaya refused, insisting that Ikonne should even pay him for assisting him to bring it out in the first place. The two men started quarreling and before one could say Jack Robison, Ikonne had picked a log of wood and slammed it into Yaya’s stomach, killing him instantly.
The incident occurred about 1pm on October 10. Ikonne tied Yaya’s body and concealed it in nylon, apparently planning to dispose it later. He would have got away with the murder but for a relation, one Echezona Omenaka, who stumbled on the hidden body and alerted the police.http://newtelegraphonline.com/businessman-kills-truck-pusher-over-n5000-disagreement/
