Five feared killed as political thugs clash



*Nobody killed-Police
Five persons were feared today at the Ebute-Metta area of Lagos State, after political thugs clashed.
The thugs clashed at the APC Primaries.

Eye witness account claimed that five were persons were killed and many injured. But police authourity of the Lagos State Police Command said the story was not true.
The warring parties belong to the Mainland Local Government former chairman (LADO) contesting against incumbent lawmaker (OLOTO).
Incumbent member of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Bashiru Oloto and another aspirant, Oladele Adekanye, contested over who becomes the party’s standard-bearer in the state House of Assembly poll for 2015.
Adekanye, the immediate past chairman of Mainland Local Government Area of the state, popularly addressed as Lado, defeated Oloto.
Violence was said to have erupted, following the announcement of the result by the returning officer.
Also, it was gathered that lives were feared lost in Ojokoro in Ifako/Ijaiye constituency, soon after the results of the exercise were announced, as a result of protest by some said to have felt aggrieved about the way and manner the exercise was conducted.

Police spokesman, Kenneth Nwosu said there was a mere skirmish in the area after the thugs attempted to foment trouble.
He added: “But by our record, nobody was killed. Only one person was wounded and he was rushed to the hospital. The boys were severally warned before the primaries. Right now, law and order has returned to the area. There is heavy patrol of policemen in that area.”
