Man shoots wife several times, then shoots self

Residents of Odume, Obosi Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, were shocked when they heard several gunshots coming from the apartment of one Mr. Willson Nwafor. They heard his wife screaming and when they got there, they discovered that Nwafor had shot his wife several times before turning the gun on himself.

The reason for the killing is unknown, but some people said the couple had been having prostracted marital quarrels.

Nwafor, an interstate bus driver, was said to have just returned from a trip a day before the incident.
A resident, who refused to disclose her name said: “The man is a transporter and he don’t stay at home but each time he comes back it is either they are fighting or quarreling. Nobody knows why because they refused to tell anybody.
“But today as I just came back from market and was taken my bath I over heard the wife shouting, please don’t shoot me! Please don’t kill me!! And suddenly I heard gunshot several times, immediately I came out I saw people running shelter skeeter and I ran too only to come back to see the couples lying in their pool of blood; but the man was still alive but very unconscious but the wife died immediately.”
