A born-again Christian who walked into a police station to confess an attempted murder exactly a decade earlier has been jailed for 12 years.

Merice Brown, 31, of Leicester, shot a 19-year-old man four times in a barber’s shop in Kennington, south London, when he was 20, before riding off on his bicycle in March 2005.
But no suspects were identified and the case remained unsolved until four months ago when Brown walked into a police station 100 miles away and confessed to the crime.
Now, ten years later, he has been jailed at Inner London Crown Court after pleading guilty to attempted murder and two firearms offences.
