Man dismembers friend’s body

A man, identified as Stephen Anunu, is now telling the police in Akwa Ibom State why he decided to murder his bosom friend and dismember his body. The incident, according to witnesses, occurred on Itu Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
Anunu was arrested by policemen attached to the State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) while attempting to run away. The victim, identified simply as Daniel, a barber, hailed from Uruan Local Government Area. Anunu, from Anambra State, had allegedly called his friend on phone for an urgent meeting in his house, where he entertained him with a drugged bottle of beer.
“When the late Daniel arrived, he (the suspect) entertained him with the drugged beer and it was not long before the deceased dozed off, giving Anunu the opportunity to tie him before stabbing him to death,” a witness said.
“After stabbing him to death, he carried the remains into his kitchen and used hacksaw to chop off his hands, head and legs. He packed the parts in a bag, pulled it out of the house to the major street of Itu Road,” the witness added.
