The Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has directed the
promotion of Sergeant Godwin Osayi to the rank of inspector for
fabricating bullet proof vest from local materials.
Arase gave the directive when he addressed members of Police/Public
Community Relations Committee in Bauchi, Bauchi State on Wednesday.
Arase also directed the promotion of nine officers, led by Corporal
Bala Mohammed, who had mounted a Guard of Honour, for their
professionalism.
He said modern policing was no longer possible without the assistance from the members of the public.
He said given their current strength, the police could not be everywhere without the help of the public.
