Three more women accuse Cosby of sex assault

Three more women have come forward to accuse veteran comedian Bill Cosby of sexual assault.

Colleen Hughes, Linda Ridgeway Whitedeer and Eden Tirl added their names to a list of more than 40 women who claim to have been assaulted by the 78-year-old.

The women detailed the allegations at a news conference in Los Angeles hosted by celebrity attorney Gloria Allred, who represents 21 of Cosby’s accusers.

Ms Hughes and Ms Ridgeway Whitedeer claim to have been assaulted on the early 1970s, while Ms Tirl said she was sexually harassed on the set of The Cosby Show in 1989.

Last month New York magazine interviewed and profile 35 of the women. They were pictured on the front cover sitting side by side on stools alongside an empty stool, raising questions about how many other women may still come forward.

Ms Ridgeway Whitedeer told reporters: “As undignified as this is, it is my turn to take the empty chair that I saw on the cover of the New York magazine, because I was assaulted sitting in a chair on a job interview and I was not drugged.”

She said he forced her into performing a sex act when she met him for an interview on a film set in 1971, reports Sky News.

Ms Hughes, a former American Airlines flight attendant, said met him on one of her flights and accompanied him to a hotel room where she lost consciousness for few hours after drinking champagne. She said she confronted him about the incident a year later.

Ms Tirl, a former model, claimed to have been harassed in Cosby’s dressing room while she was a guest star on his show.

Cosby has seen his career nosedive since the allegations started to pile up, with TV shows and live events being cancelled.

Last month the comedian, who has never been criminally charged, was ordered to give a sworn deposition in a lawsuit alleging he sexually abused a 15-year-old girl at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles.

The order states that Cosby will submit to questions under oath from the lawyer of his accuser, Judy Huth, on October 9.

It is the first time Cosby has been directed to testify under oath in response to a complaint of sexual misconduct against him since he gave a deposition in a separate case he settled out of court nine years ago.

He has previously settled some claims out of court.

Many allegations are too old for him to face criminal proceedings. http://newtelegraphonline.com/three-more-women-accuse-cosby-of-sex-assault/
