Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State has commended the former
General Officer Commanding (GOC), 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Major
General Tamunomiebi Dibi, for his contributions to the security of the
state.
Ambode, who spoke through the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of
Special Duties and Inter- Governmental Relations, Dr Ibironke Sodeinde,
gave the commendation at Dibi’s pulling out ceremony held at 65
Battalion Parade Ground, Bonny Camp, Lagos.
He said: “With the prompt
response of your division under your command to the security issues and
collaboration with other security agencies, you really contributed to
the peaceful atmosphere that is being enjoyed in the state.”
The governor urged Dibi’s successor, Major General Henry Edet, to
continue in that same spirit.
He added: “We also want to count on your
successor to keep our state secure for everyone. On our part, we will
continue to provide the necessary support within our capacity to enhance
effective performance for our security agencies.”
