An Oyo State Mass Transit bus yesterday rammed into traders at the
Magboro Market on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and killed five persons.
Several other who sustained varying degrees of injury were rushed to
Devine Touch Hospital, Ibafo and Ogun State University Teaching Hospital
(OSUTH), Sagamu.
The bus was said to have been returning from the Murtala Mohammed
International Airport (MMIA), where the driver went to drop passengers
going to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj. The Oyo State Pilgrimage
Welfare Board, ‘Muslim wing’ first batch, was boldly written and pasted
on the mass transit bus.
The bus, marked: 14B7204, Oyo State, lost it break and rammed into a
commercial bus. The buses skidded off the road and crashed into the
market. A commercial motorcyclist said: “I was at the bus stop, waiting
for passengers when I suddenly saw the driver of the mass transit hit
the commercial bus.
