Seven people lost their lives yesterday on Oyo- Ogbomoso Road in Oyo
State in an auto crash involving a commercial bus and an articulated
lorry.
The driver of the bus survived the crash while several other
passengers sustained life-threatening injuries.
A witness, who simply
identified himself as Tayo, said when he got to the accident scene,
moments after it occurred, people were assisting the victims.
According to him, the accident happened when an Ilorin-bound
commercial bus overtook a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and tried to
manoeuvre its way back to its lane but failed.
The driver of the SUV
reportedly increased speed, thereby making it difficult for the
commercial bus, which was coming from Lagos, to join the lane. He said:
“When the driver of the SUV increased speed, there was an articulated
truck coming from Ilorin.
