Fresh facts have emerged about the death of a 23-yearold man,
Ugochukwu Ugobuogu, who hanged himself on Sunday in their residence at
Block 2, A Close, 311 Road, Festac Town, Lagos.
A family friend said two
weeks ago, the deceased also attempted to snuff out his life by
attempting drinking a cement mixture, but didn’t succeed when his family
members discovered his intention. On Sunday, he decided to take another
shot at killing himself and succeeded. On Sunday, around 12 pm, his
sister, Oluchi, returned from church to see his body, dangling from a
rope attached to the ceiling fan.
According to the family source, Ugobuogu, about a month ago, suddenly
resigned from where he was working as an attendant, in a dry cleaning
establishment. He allegedly started moving with friends who had
questionable characters. He also started keeping late nights and smoking
Indian hemp.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: “Three days
earlier, he told some of his friends that something would happen very
soon. He said that they would also hear a new story. When asked to
disclose what would soon happen, he refused.”
