A member of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Eric Oharisi,
yesterday urged the state Commissioner of Police to investigate the
alleged killing of his cousin, Odafe Iwhiwhu and his two friends,
Kennedy Ogodo and Otamedaye Onojighofia, by members of the Vigilante
Group of Nigeria (VGN).
Oharisi, representing Ughelli North constituency
II, made the call in his office after he received a petition on the
alleged killing. The lawmaker said that the incident which occurred on
March 1 where Iwhiwhu, Ogodo and Onojighofia were killed in cold blood
could not be swept under the carpet.
While assuring the petitioner that the petition would be sent to the
appropriate quarter for immediate action, he said those involved in the
killing would be brought to book. The legislator, therefore, called on
the Delta State commissioner of police to ensure the culprits face the
wrath of the law.
