Many stakeholders have picked hole in the story of the allegation of child molestation against a teacher at the Queen’s College, Yaba, Mr. Olaseni Osifala, lambasting the owner of the blog for what they described as the abuse of social media platform.
A report had gone viral at the weekend accusing the teacher, who the reporter described as an Integrated Science teacher and who allegedly lives close to the pupils’ hostel, of attempting to rape her daughter.
The accuser, simply identified as Mrs. Chineye, said in the report that she had reported to the college’s Vice-Principal, who she simply identified as Mrs. Kayode, who she claimed had called her bluff, saying the accused cannot be tried.
But in his response to the allegation, Osifala, whose telephone number was unavailable at the time of filing this report, wrote on his Facebook page thus; “To all friends worldwide, the story post against me is a fiction as the writer is faceless. The management has investigated the story and found all these to be dubious. It is just hatred, and mere product of jealousy. Help me to make my situation known to the entire world. They are just out to destroy my integrity. I am a celebrated teacher in the college with many awards over a period of about 13 years now.”
Also, many of his colleagues and friends, who have taken to his Facebook page, have described the allegation as a figment of the accuser’s imagination, saying apart from the fact that the school does not have Integrated Science as a subject, the teacher concerned does not teach junior classes.
In her post, the Chairman of the school’s branch of the Parent-Teachers’ Association (PTA), Mrs. Beatrice Akhetuamen said; “I am the PTA Chairman of Queens College. I have known this man in question for almost six years and he is very diligent in his duties and his students that he taught Biology and the ones he still teaches can attest to this. He does not live in the college and had never taught in the junior school. He does not touch alcohol. I was in Ghana with him for Kings/Queens /Achimota games, I never saw him drink. This is the handiwork of detractors because he is always given responsibilities for his diligence.”
They, therefore, challenged the accuser to approach a competent security agency for proper report and that her real identity should be revealed.
