Justice Muktar Abimbola of an Oyo State High Court yesterday adjourned
further hearing in the case of murder preferred against Mrs. Yewande
Oyediran, till April 18.
The adjournment came on the heels of the
application for engagement of a private counsel to prosecute the case of
alleged murder. Yewande allegedly stabbed her husband, Lowo Oyediran in
the neck on February 2, which led to his death.
The accused was until the incident a counsel in the Directorate of
Public Prosecution (DPP), Ministry of Justice, Oyo State. After her
arraignment at the Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court on holden charge,
she was later arraigned at the High Court which has jurisdiction to
entertain her case. The remains of Lowo, who hailed from Gbongan in Osun
State but was based in France, had been buried in his home town.
