PSC promotes 156 senior officers: 1 CP TO AIG, 10 DCP TO CP, 19 ACP TO DCP, 20 CSP TO ACP

The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of 156 senior Police Officers to the next rank. Musa Katsina Mohammed, the Commissioner of Police, (CP), Kano State was promoted to the next rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, (AIG), while ten Deputy Commissioners of Police, (DCP), were elevated to the rank of Commissioner of Police, (CP).
The new Commissioners of Police, (CP), are, Ero Oga; Yunana Y. Babas; Dan-Malam Mohammed; Mu’azu Zubairu Halilu; Rabiu Yusuf; Sanusi Nma Lemu; Ahmed Iliyasu; Isyaku Muktar Garko; Mohammed Uba Kura and Alhassan Mamuda.
The Commission also promoted nineteen Assistant Commissioners of Police, (ACP) to the next rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police. They include Akingbola O. Olatunji; Isaac Olukayode Turner; Sadiku Michael Gbenga and Abraham Egong Ayim.
Twenty Chief Superintendents of Police, (CSP), were also promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) with one Superintendent of Police, (SP) moved to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police, (CSP).
Hundred Assistant Superintendents of Police, (ASP) were also promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police, (DSP), including Atiku Ibrahim of the Enugu State Command. The Commission also elevated four Inspectors to the next rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
The Commission has also approved the upgrading of 11 Rank and File Police Officers who have been trained as Pilots to the rank of Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) in line with their Pilot license and certificate.
The Promotions which has been conveyed to the Inspector General of Police for implementation takes effect from the 18th of March 2016 except that of the AIG Musa Katsina Mohammed whose promotion takes effect from the 23rd of March 2016.
