Two men, Yunusa Amusan and Frank William, have been arrested for
their alleged involvement in peddling drugs through the postal service.
While Amusan (33) was arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement
Agency (NDLEA) for receiving heroin letter from his uncle in Bengaluru,
India, William was picked up by India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)
for his involvement in smuggling and peddling of cocaine in South
Mumbai, India.
The letter, which was sent from Bengaluru, India, on Express Mail
Service (EMS), was addressed to Amusan in Mushin, Lagos. According to
the NDLEA, Amusan was grabbed by operatives when he came to collect the
letter.
The agency spokesperson, Mitchell Ofoyeju, said: “Upon interception
by the NDLEA, about 480 grammes of powdery substance that tested
positive for heroin was found inside the letter.
