Court remands four for killing 21-year-old

An Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court has remanded four men in custody for allegedly killing 21-year-old Adekunle Ramoni.
The incident happened in the Odonguyan area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The suspects, Emmamuel Reuben, Ikechukwu Atuma, Tobiloba Ogunyemi and Joseph Isaac, were arraigned on Thursday at the Ebute Metta Magistrate court on two counts of murder.
The charge reads in part,
“That you, Emmamuel Reuben, Ikechukwu Atuma, Tobiloba Ogunyemi, Joseph Isaac, and others now at large, on July 20, 2014 at about 2100hrs, at the Odonguyan area of Ikorodu, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill one Adekunle Ramoni and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state Nigeria, 2011.”
The defendants’ pleas were not taken.
The prosecutor, Asup Feddy, applied for the suspects to be remanded in prison pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
The Magistrate, Mr. E.O. Ogunkanmi, granted the application.
In a related development, three other suspects Oliver Oke, Kelechi Nwanfor and Adekanye Jamiu, were arraigned for allegedly being part of the hoodlums involved in the affray which led to the death of the 21-year-old victim.
They were granted bail in the sum of N10,000 with two sureties in like sum.
