A 31-year-old lover boy, who allegedly murdered his lady love, a businesswoman at the FESTAC area of Lagos State, has been remanded in prison custody.
The accused, Williams Kelechi, was remanded by a Yaba Chief Magistrate’s Court Thursday for the alleged murder of Lizzy Njideka, the Managing Director of Edmark International.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. A. Ipaye-Nwachukwu, said Kelechi should be kept in custody pending the release of legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
Kelechi was said to have murdered the international businesswoman, a mother of four in her home at Odusanya Oduguwa Crescent, Green Estate, Amuwo Odofin.
Njideka was preparing to embark on vacation with her kids, before the accused during a lovers’ brawl, strangled her to death with her wrapper.
After killing the woman, Kelechi allegedly disappeared to Ghana with her Range Rover Sport, ATM cards, and some money.
Kelechi was finally tracked to Cote d’Ivoire through the efforts of Interpol and police detectives from Area E Command, FESTAC, under the commander, Mr. Dan Okoro.
The accused after his arrest said he killed his lover because he felt she was cheating on him.
