I’m protecting myself with the gun, says undergraduate arrested for robbery

Two undergraduates have been arrested for robbery. This was even as policemen in Imo State, killed four suspected robbers and arrested one during a gun duel.

One of the students, Ifeakachukwu Nwofor, a 200-level student of Government and Public Administration at the Imo State University (IMSU), was found with a locally made pistol concealed in a notebook.
Nwofor, who also claimed to be a member of a secret cult, KKK, said he was merely protecting himself with the gun.
Another student, Chinemerem Obielu, a new student at the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, was also found in possession of a pistol, during a stop-and search at a checkpoint at Umuguma.
Four men, believed to be armed robbers were killed on Monday during a gun battle with the police at Nekede in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State.
The suspects, according to the police, had been terrorising Nekede neighbourhood before they met their Waterloo.
The Commissioner of Police, AbdulMajid Ali, said a monitoring team had acted promptly after it got information that the suspects were robbing a shop.
He said all the robbers involved in the operation were killed during the shootout except one Lucky Amaechi, 33, who was arrested unhurt. Ali said the command had maintained surveillance on the gang which, had been connected with kidnapping, robbery and car-snatching in the area.
