IGP redeploys Lagos, Ogun Police Commissioners over crime wave

There was a slight shake up in the police hierarchy on Thursday; leading to posting of Lagos and Ogun states Commissioners of Police to Force Headquarters, Abuja.

According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, the postings, which take effect immediately, are to reverse the crime wave in the affected states, while also strengthening administration in the affected strategic Force Headquarters Formations.

Mr. Kayode Aderanti, who has been in charge of Lagos State Command for barely a year, has been moved to become the CP Administration, department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja. Aderanti was announced as the CP. Lagos in September 2014.

Aderanti’s successor in the Lagos Command is Ajani Fatai Owoseni. The Ogun State Commissioner of police, Valentine Ntomchukwu, has been transferred to become the CP Administration, Department of Logistics & Supply, Force Headquarters, Abuja. Mr. Abdulmajid Ali is now the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State.
