A 52-year-old teacher, Edet Umoren, who allegedly beheaded a 10-year-old pupil, Precious Adedeji, yesterday said he committed the crime out of annoyance and provocation.

 Umoren, a teacher at Favour Nursery and Primary School, Esugbon community, Itamerin near Ijebu- Ife, Ogun State, claimed that his employer owed him four years’ salaries.
The suspect was yesterday paraded at the office of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Magbon, Abeokuta by the state Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali. Ali also paraded seven other suspects nabbed in connection with kidnapping, bunkering, armed robbery and terrorism. Umoren, on Thursday last week, reportedly beheaded the 10-yearold girl, who was granddaughter of the school proprietor, Pastor Joseph Olutoye.
