    Give seven-day ultimatum

Hundreds of residents of Mowe, Ibafo and Magboro in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State yesterday staged a protest over prolonged power outage in their communities.
The protesters, who claimed that they had been in darkness for over 10 years, threatened to block the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway if their plight was not addressed within the next seven days.
Armed with placards bearing various inscriptions, the residents, under the aegis of Mowe-Ibafo- Magboro Community Development Council (CDC), chanted solidarity songs to express their grievances. Policemen and officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) were on ground to monitor the protesters and control traffic on the expressway.
The protesters said they had made several efforts to contact the authorities, including Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, and Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), to fix the power problem but got no positive response.
