10 days after abduction, apprentice yet to contact victim’s family

Today is exactly 10 days that an apprentice, Grace John kidnapped her mistress’s three-year-old daughter at the Alagbandon area of Lagos State.

The victim’s father, Festus Adebiyi, said that John was yet to make contact, adding that the family has handed the matter over to God.
John abducted the little girl, Oluwasemilore, five days after she applied and started working as an apprentice in the victim’s mother’s beads and hat making shop.
Adebiyi said: “We have embarked on prayers to seek divine intervention for the release of our baby. There is a limit to human efforts, but when one involves God as his last hope, he shall have his request granted. If God says yes, no man can say no. However, we have reported the matter at different police station, including FESTAC, Alagbado and Lagos State Police Command. We’re anxiously waiting for information.”

John, who identified herself as an apprentice from Benue State, was employed by Oluwasemilore’s mother at her shop at James Oyedele Street, Moshalashi Alagbado.  She was employed on January 23, 2017 and five days after, she abducted Oluwasemilore.
Adebiyi said: “On January 28, she told my wife that she wanted to go and buy gala; my daughter as a baby pleaded to follow her. But as minutes kept rolling by without their return, my wife started looking for them. She saw them on the road with a man, whom Grace introduced as her guarantor. They thought they were heading towards her shop for documentation and filling of guarantor’s form. After waiting for long, she went to check on them again, but they were nowhere to be found.”
He said they tried to call John’s phone number. She kept cutting the calls until she finally switched off.
It was learnt that Oluwasemilore’s mum previously took pictures of John with her phone, but when she went to check, she discovered John had wiped off all the pictures.
