A three-year-old girl, Oluwasemilore Adebiyi, has
been abducted by her mother’s newly acquired apprentice.
The little girl, Oluwasemilore, was abducted on January
28, 2017, by Grace John, five days after she was accepted as an apprentice in a
beads and hats making shop.
The missing girl’s mother, Tobiloba, said that
immediately John came to her, asking to be an apprentice in beads and hats
making, she had used her phone to take John’s snapshot.
When John bolted with the little girl, Tobiloba had
immediately dashed to her phone, ready to flash the pictures and give some to
the police.
She, however, collapsed in shock after she
discovered that John’s pictured had been wiped off the phone gallery and memory
card.
John was said to have begun her training at
Tobiloba’s Beads and Hats making shop, located at Mosholashi Alagbado, on
January 23.
According to the devastated Tobiloba, she had
earlier asked John to bring a guarantor and passport photographs for
documentation purposes.
John, however, pleaded for more time, explaining
that her guarantor, due to the nature of his job, was only available on
weekends.
The missing girl’s father, Olawunmi, said: “Grace as
she calls herself, resumed at my wife’s beads and hats making shop on Monday. My
wife, Tobiloba, told her to bring passport and a guarantor for documentation.
In fact, Tobiloba also told her that if she didn’t come with a guarantor, she
would not allow her to work next week. Grace said that her guarantor goes to
work and was only available at weekends.”
On Saturday, they all waited for the arrival of
John’s guarantor. They were still
waiting, when John suddenly said she was hungry and needed to buy gala. Oluwasemilore, on hearing this, cried that she
wanted to go with John. The parents allowed the crying girl to have her way.
After a while, Tobiloba began to feel uneasy. Oluwasemilore
and John were taking too long. She went to check and noticed them in the next
street. John was speaking with a man. Tobilola thought the man was the much
expected. She went back into her shop.
She said: “That was the last time I saw my daughter
or the lady that calls herself Grace.”
The husband added: “Since then, we’ve not seen any
of them. We’ve been trying Grace’s number, but she would pick and cut the call.
Now the phone had been switched off.”
Oluwasemilore’s parents said the case has been
reported at the Alagbado Police Station.
