Driver faints after slapped for saying, ‘Buhari is dead’

A taxi driver fainted and was rushed to the nearest hospital in Delta State, after being slapped for saying that President Muhammadu Buhari was dead.

According to eye witnesses, the driver was allegedly slapped by Usman Bukar, for saying Buhari was dead.
The driver was said to have collapsed and lost consciousness after being slapped by Bukar. He was rushed to the nearest hospital, where doctors revived him.
The incident was said to have occurred at a news stand, where both men were browsing through newspapers.
The driver had briefly glanced at his phone and saw the story of the alleged death of the president on the social media.
He was quoted to have said: “The body of the President should be thrown into River-Niger for fish and other wild animals to do justice on him. He is very wicked.”
Bukar, without wasting time, slapped him. The fracas would have snowballed as family members of the driver rushed to the scene, intent on attacking Bukar.
But policemen from the Delta State Police Command saved the day.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Andrew Aniamaka, confirmed the incident.
According to Aniamaka, the victim is receiving treatment and the alleged attacker had been arrested and detained for interrogation.
