According to residents, the suspect believed and had
often complained to anyone who cared to listen that his mother, Dorcas Ayoola,
was responsible for his misfortune in life.
They alleged that he had serially attacked his
mother, blaming her for all sort of crime, until he killed her on Tuesday.
The suspect’s younger brother, Akintunde Ayoola, at
about 6pm reported Oluwaseye to Ogombo
Police Station. He complained that he didn’t like the manner his brother was
manhandling their mother for refusing to
give him money.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO)
said: “ When Akintunde returned from the police station, he met his mother in a
pool of her blood. The suspect had already escaped from the scene. Police
launched a manhunt for suspect and he was later arrested. The suspect during
interrogation confesses to the police that he went to his mother to ask for
N500, 000 out of his late sister’s will of N11million. He got angry and pounced
on her mother for refusing to give him part of her sister’s will. He hacked her
to death.”
A resident said: “The suspect attacked his aged
mother serially last year. He always believed her aged mother was behind his
misfortune in life. He asked his mother to give him N500,000 he demanded from
N11 million his late sister had willed to her.”
Another resident in the area, who also craved
anonymity said: “ Oluwaseye was a thorn in the flesh of the old woman whenever
money was sent to her. At his age, he could not succeed in any business or
trade he ventured into. He either relies on his aged mother or his siblings for
survival. Even when he was living with her mother, he was always brutal and
aggressive towards her.”
A source close to the family said that Oluwaseye had
been complaining that his old mother was the witch behind his misfortunes in
life.
The source said: “When she refused to give him the
money, she punched him and slammed a hammer and television on her. He then
fled, leaving the old woman in a pool of blood. She died.”
