He planned to kill, dump my corpse on road-Victim

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Engineer Wole Odunuga, for tying his alleged debtor’s hands and legs to his back and planning to drive him in that condition all the way to Abuja.

Odunuga said the victim, Daniel Dabis, who happened to be his employee, stole a substantial amount of money from his Abuja resident and fled to Lagos.
Dabis, however, said: “What I took from him were a ladder and a wheel barrow. He is estimating the cost of the wheel barrow at N110, 000 and the ladder, N90, 000. It was because of that he tied my legs and hands to my back. His plans were to drive me to Abuja, if not for the intervention of the policemen. He would have killed me and dumped my body at the road side.”
Odunuga was arrested after officers of Metro Police chased his vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux Van with the registration number SMK 707 CA, from Ketu/Ojota Flyover to 7-Up,  before Toll Gate.

The officers, on Wednesday night, at around 7:20 p.m.,   flagged down Odunuga’s car, but he refused to stopping, fueling the policemen suspicion.
The policemen chased him. After forcing the vehicle to a stop around 7-Up, the officers were shocked to see Dabis, with his legs and hands tied to his back and put at the back of the Hilux.
During interrogation, Odunuga told policemen that Dabis stole his money from his Abuja home before he absconded to Lagos. He said he was transporting Dabis back to Abuja.
Odunuga, resident of Pent City Estate, Abuja, said: “I have been searching for him all over places. The search even took me to his village in Plateau State. It was one of his friends, who told me he was hiding in Lagos. I heard he was living at Mile 12 Market, Ketu. I drove down from Abuja. I met him at Mile 12 Market, Ketu, where I picked him up.
“Initially, I had taken him down to Ketu Divisional Police Station, Lagos, to incident the matter, but the officers at the station refused to detain him there. So, I had no option than to take him back to Abuja.”
