He was later arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command.
The prosecution counsel, Sergeant Evidence Onyekachi, told the court that the suspect’s action was contrary to Section 316 and punishable under Section 319 (1) of the criminal laws of Ogun state of Nigeria 2006.
His plea was not taken, as the defence counsel was absent in court.
The chief magistrate, Mr. Bolaji Ojikutu, ordered that the accused be remanded in the prisons custody pending the necessary advice from the director of public prosecution.
However, the case has been adjourned till October 10.
The suspect had allegedly killed his father after an altercation that ensued between him and the father for his refusal to participate in a prayer session.
He had put the remains of the father in a box and dragged same to a nearby bush in the vicinity.
Policemen later followed the blood mark on the route to the house where Tola was arrested.
Giving the reason for his dastardly act in an interview with journalists at the Ogun State police command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, few days after the incident, he said his father provoked him.
