Kuteb made the call while decorating the officers who were recently promoted from the rank of Assistant Route Commanders to Deputy Route Commanders in the Command.
Kuteb who attributed their new promotions to hard work, commitment and dedication to duty, added that gone were the days when one would progress along with his mates without much effort, hence the need for all to be hardworking.
He told the men that their promotions ought to ginger them to impact positively in the Corps and be an example to junior officers. Kuteb said: “Officers expecting their own promotions, should be patient, work hard and trust in God. They should further their education as a means of accelerating their promotion.” Responding on behalf of those promoted, Deputy Route Commander Rimaskwe Gideon Kitan, said that nothing good comes easy.
He urged those waiting for their promotions, to pray and eschew anger as, “promotion is about hard work, commitment and dedication.”
In another development, Kuteb commended the proper conduct of road users during the just concluded Eid-el-Fitr festival, as there was no road crash during the period.
His words: “It was a crash-free celebration. We have never had it so good. Accident rates have drastically reduced. We however urge members of the public to be careful and considerate. They should have regard for other road users, while ensuring their vehicles’ wipers, lighting systems and tyres are in good condition during rainy season.”
