AGAIN, some gunmen have killed two men and injured two other persons at a bar, along Aggrey Road in the Port Harcourt metropolis, Rivers State.
The assailants, who were suspected to be cult members, were said to have stormed a relaxation centre within the area on Monday night and opened fire on their targets.
It was gathered that four men, who rode in an unmarked car, got to the place at about 10.00 p.m. and opened fire on a set of people sitting outside the relaxation centre, killing one on the spot and injuring three others.
The ugly incident occurred less than eight hours after a cleric was reportedly killed in a clash between the people of Deeyor and Deken communities in Gokana Local Government Area of the state.
Aside the person who died on the spot, a source said one of the injured three persons also died on the way to the hospital, while the remaining two were taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
While the identity of the gunmen who carried out the dastardly act could not be ascertained, it was gathered that two cult groups, the Icelanders and the Greenlanders, had been at loggerheads over which group had control on the Aggrey Road axis of tye, Rivers State capital and its environs.
Assistant Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, ASP Grace Iringe-Koko, however, could not confirm the incident, as she said she had not received any report on it as of the time of filing this report.
