A mother
killed her partner and their four-year-old daughter before inserting
wooden objects into the bodies because she believed they would turn into
vampires, a court has heard.
Shelley
Christopher, 36, stabbed Richard Brown 29 times before turning on their
daughter Sophia after believing she had been instructed by a light bulb
in the ceiling.
The
court heard how, after she attacked each of them with a knife, she
believed she had to insert a wooden object inside their bodies to stop
them becoming vampires.
Their lifeless bodies were found by police at the family home in Notting Hill, west London, several days after their deaths.
Mr
Brown, 42, was in a bath filled with bloodied water while Sophia was
lying in bed with a blood-stained towel over her face and coloured
sticking plasters covering her wounds.
The
court heard how Christopher had attacked Mr Brown while shouting
'you're a vampire' because his eyes had 'changed colour' and he was
'trying to bite her with his fangs'.
A
child’s paintbrush was recovered from Mr Brown’s chest, while a
pathologist who examined Sophia’s body found part of a pencil inside one
of the wounds, jurors heard.
