Islamic ‘fundamentalists’ kill two-year-old boy

• Banker hacks 80-year-old mother to death

Three suspected Islamic fundamentalists are now being interrogated by the police in Osun State for the alleged killing of a two-year-old boy, Teslim Bakare, at Iragbiji, the headquarters of Boripe Local Government Area. 

The suspects – Mosudi Aremu, Tajudeen Ganiyu of Aropoko compound, and one Wasiu Danku, said to have sliced their victim’s throat at Agbelekale compound of the town.
This was as a 52-yearold banker, Bravo Kunde, has been arrested at Jenta Mangoro area of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, for hacking to death his 80-year-old mother, identified as Mama Yakubu. Police sources told journalists in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, yesterday that after killing the boy, the suspects cut off his head and kept his blood in a bucket for spiritual purpose.
The sources added that unknown to suspects “someone successfully recorded the scenes with mobile phone and handed the recordings to some people”. “The sect members, led by one Mosudi Aremu had been operating a mosque around Oke Mori area of Iragbiji and resided in another part of the town,” the police sources said.
